“The most fascinating thing about being a football player is just being with my teammates and friends, and working hard to overcome a big goal in a game.”

This Week’s Farmer Focus is on senior Louis Buban, a football player and former wrestler. He is an aspiring firefighter and likes the idea of saving lives.

 ZOOMING IN

Q: What movie would you say best describes your life?

A: “Never Back Down.”

Q: What’s so fascinating about the sport of wrestling to you?

A: “It wasn’t like you working on a team. It was pretty much working with yourself against someone else. And you had to be physically and mentally strong, because, if they got into your head, they would easily pin you or get you into a move that you couldn’t get out of. But if you’re strong then they won’t be able to put you in a move that you couldn’t get out of.”

Q: What’s it like being a football player and playing for LHS?

A: “I mean at LHS we have a lot of pride and a lot of tradition. So, all our coaches are really stuck on that and we became a family.”

Q: What gets you pumped up before a big game?

A: “Listening to music and being with my friends and getting each other pumped up.”

Q:  How do you deal with a loss?

A: “Forget it, and on that day, probably going to think about it again, but the next day [I’m] going to have to move on, because there’s the next game coming up.”

Q: Why do you want to become a firefighter?

A: “Because my life was saved by one when I was little.”

Q: What happened?

A:  “I got in a motorcycle accident with my dad.  My  dad was beat up pretty bad, and I was on the street with cuts on my knees and stuff. The firefighter went in the ambulance with me all the way to the hospital, and he stayed with me in the room while my dad was in the ER.”

Q: What made you want to become one?

A: “Something I want to do for the public, save peoples’ lives, and it makes me feel good.”

Q: What’s appealing to you about a fireman’s work of duty?

A: “They put their lives on the line and risk their lives to save other people.”
