Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
A: “I would like to go to either New Zealand or China. They both have large amounts of untamed land and they seem very interesting and beautiful.”
Q: Who are some of your favorite artists to listen to and why?
A: “Switchfoot, Audio Adrenaline, Reliant K, Bruce Springsteen, Walk the Moon and of course Taylor Swift. Reasoning, they all rock hard and their music pumps me up.”
Q: If you could go back and relive the best moment in your life what would it be and why?
A: “Wow, never thought about this, maybe I would relive my childhood but with the ability to actually remember it. Seeing as remembering stuff before I was 4 is pretty hard. Another time I might travel back to is when my family and I traveled to Germany and England, it was an amazing experience.”
Q: If you could change something about yourself, would you? If so, what would it be and why? If not, why not?
A: “I would make myself 6’4 and 235 pounds being able to bench 400 pounds and run a 4.6 40’. That way, I could’ve destroyed anyone on the football field!”
Q: If you could play any sport professionally, which sport would you choose and why?
A: “Possibly ultimate frisbee, it seems pretty fun and awesome to play.”
ZOOMING IN
Q: What college will you attend? What is your intended major?
A: “Texas A&M University, environmental studies.”
Q: What extracurriculars have you been in throughout high school?
A: “Art club, lacrosse, church youth group, FIT club, FCA, football, wrestling and water polo (I only played water polo for a day).”
Q: What was the most challenging aspect about balancing extracurriculars and academics?
A: “Keeping myself healthy. I used to go to sleep at 10 every night in order to give my head and my body time to heal. Now that I’m done with sports, I pretty much go to sleep whenever I want.”
Q: What class was the hardest for you? Why?
A: “APUSH and pre-cal. APUSH was an extremely labor-intensive class. It took so much time to get everything done, and I’m just not amazing at math so naturally, pre-cal was difficult.”
Q: Who has helped you the most throughout this journey? How have they?
A: “Probably my mom, she always made me do homework and study for classes even when I didn’t want to. She also taught me math and such when I was younger in order to help me prepare for what I would have to do in the future.”
Q: What has been the most memorable part of high school?
A: “There is this picture of me jumping into the stands after our playoff game against Keller – that would be my most memorable event.”
Q: What do you miss most about traditional high school over at-home learning?
A: “My lunch table.”
Q: What advice would you give to your freshman self?
A: “Enjoy every single day, don’t spend your whole high school career waiting for college, be satisfied and happy with your day-to-day life. Also, ask Makenna out much earlier, she will say yes and then you can have three extra months with her – oh by the way, this girl named Makenna will start going to your church and she’s really awesome!”
Q: What are you most excited about regarding college?
A: “The parties and irresponsible living, just kidding. I am most excited about all the friends I will make and learning how to scrape by without my parents there to help me.”
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
A: “I don’t know, with a family and kids. I would like to be making a decent salary, but money isn’t everything. The perfect salary would be just enough to keep my wife and kids well fed, but also to have spending money to do some fun stuff every once in a while. Maybe I will be living in another country as a missionary, that’d be pretty righteous.”
