Q: What college will you attend? What is your intended major and why that major?
A: “I’m going to Texas Woman’s University and majoring in nursing. I want to be a nurse because I love helping people. I specifically want to be a pediatric nurse because I love kids.”
Q: What extracurriculars have you been involved in throughout high school?
A: “Throughout high school, I was involved in tennis my freshman year and drill team all four of my years. I’m also in various clubs like National Honor Society, Student Council and Interact.”
Q: What was the most challenging aspect about balancing extracurriculars and academics?
A: “Not having enough time; it made it really hard. I had to stay up many nights for school.”
Q: What class was the most challenging for you? Why?
A: “The most challenging class would have to be honors precalculus with Mrs. Chiles. She is an amazing teacher, but my brain does not work the same as hers, so it made it more difficult.”
Q: Who has helped you the most throughout these last four years? How have they helped you?
A: “My parents have helped the most. They have always been there to support me. They came to most of my tennis matches and all of the football games.”
Q: What has been the most memorable part of high school?
A: “Being on the drill team. It’s an experience I will never forget. It shaped who I am today.”
Q: What advice would you give to your freshman self?
A: “I would tell her ‘Yes, it’s hard, but it’s all worth it in the end and just keep hoping.’”
Q: What are you most excited about regarding college?
A: “I’m most excited for the independence and having my own life where I can go cook by myself and where I can do grocery shopping. Adult things.”
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
A: “I hope to see myself working as a nurse with dogs and maybe a husband.”
Q: What would you change about your high school experience?
A: “The only thing I would change is I would go out more with my friends. I felt like I missed out on a lot because of studying and doing schoolwork. That made my high school experience different.”
