Q: What college will you attend? What is your intended major and why that major?
A: “I’m planning to attend NCTC [for] psychology. I’m planning to pursue becoming a lawyer, and I’ve always felt like I needed to help people, whether it be physically or [through] the legal system.”
Q: What extracurriculars have you been involved in throughout high school?
A: “I’ve been in band for three years. I’m also an officer for Students Against Period Poverty. I’m also a member of NHS, Interact and BSU.”
Q: What was the most challenging aspect about balancing extracurriculars and academics?
A: “Trying to keep my time because being in AP classes and trying to stay after school for stuff is not exactly easy.”
Q: What class was the most challenging for you? Why?
A: “Pre-cal. That class made me actually think and work to get the grade I wanted, which obviously is an A.”
Q: Who has helped you the most throughout these last four years? How have they helped you?
A: “My best friend who graduated last year. She would see me feeling down and ask me why I’m feeling that way. She would give me advice on how to deal with that.”
Q: What has been the most memorable part of high school?
A: “The last competition I had for band. It was kind of a goodbye to my friends and band.”
Q: What advice would you give to your freshman self?
A: “Believe in yourself. Anything you want to do, just put your mind to it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”
Q: What are you most excited about regarding college?
A: “Meeting new people I’ve never seen before.”
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
A: “Hopefully being a lawyer, helping people. I specifically want to become an immigration lawyer and help immigrants who are struggling to get citizenship or just struggling to have basic residency in the country.”
Q: What would you change about your high school experience?
A: “[Be] careful with picking out my friends. A lot of people act like your friend, but when you make a slight mistake, they’ll tend to bring you down for it.”
