Q: What’s your favorite part of photography?
A: “Meeting new people and being able to see their reactions once they see the finished product of me and my dad’s work, as well as capturing those special moments of people with their families.”
Q: How did you get interested in photography?
A: “It was my dad who made me get interested in photography. At first I didn’t like doing it because when I started going with my dad, I was a little kid and he dragged me around everywhere at a young age.”
Q: What is something you are passionate about and why?
A: “It’s photography. I am passionate about photography due to my dad making me work with him since I was 7 years old. It’s really fun working in events like quinceañeras and weddings – sometimes, even getting to meet famous people.”
Q: What is your goal for this year and why ?
A: “My goal for this year is to graduate with a 4.0 GPA, at least so I can make my family proud of me, especially my grandparents.”
Q: Who got you interested in photography?
A: “Because when I was little, he used to take me to photo shoots with him. At first I didn’t like it, but he forced me to after he gave me some money.”
Q: How would you describe success in your own words?
A: “Having a good house…a two-story house at least, my family alive and well, not living in poverty and having kids of my own. That’s what I would say success means to me.”
Q: What are some obstacles you face having to deal with education and what you like doing?
A: “The main obstacle I face is time, as well as having to maintain my grades at straight A’s or minimum a B+. Usually, when I work with my dad doing photography, it takes up basically the whole day on Saturday, and [sometimes] we have something to do like a photoshoot on Sunday.”
Q: Why did you decide to do photography?
A: “At first, it was just for the money. But after I got all the money I wanted, at least at that time, I just did it for fun and to help my dad.”
Q: Where did you learn your skills for photography?
A: “I learned it from my father who learned from his father. At this point, it’s a family business. My dad taught me because he needed someone to help, and so when I grow up, I can work in the photography field part-time while I get another job or in college.”
Q: How would someone describe you in three words, and what are the meanings behind the chosen words?
A: “Genuine, laid back and tall. I think my friend chose genuine since I am always truthful and sincere with her. She may have chosen laid back due to me being easy-going and easy to talk/hangout with. She obviously described me as tall since I am taller than most of my friends, and my family ranges from 6 feet tall on both sides of my family.”
