Who or what inspires your fashion choices the most?

My fashion choices are most inspired by dark alternative styles. I love pieces that make a bold statement while still feeling polished and expressive. That’s why fall is my favorite season for fashion; the rich textures, layers, and moody tones give me the perfect chance to play with dramatic looks. I usually shop online to find unique, niche pieces that align with my aesthetic though I still enjoy the experience of trying things on in person. If I had to pick one color that defines my look, it’s black. It’s powerful, elegant and always makes me feel my best. For anyone hesitant to try a new style, I always suggest starting small. Just one bold item can make a big difference. Fashion should feel like freedom, not pressure.”

My biggest fashion inspiration has always been my sister, Katie. She was the one who really introduced me to clothing and style. I used to steal her clothes when I was younger and she’d always ask for my opinion on her outfits. Watching how put-together she always was made me want to find my own sense of style. When it comes to fashion seasons, I’d say fall and winter are my favorite. I love layering and the colder it is, the more confident I feel in my outfits. Some of my favorite brands are Aritzia, Diesel, Jaded London and Acne Studios. You’ll usually find me in darker tones like black and earth colors. I don’t always have time to dress up but when I do, I sometimes second guess it until I get out there and realize people actually love the look. It’s all about confidence and not overthinking it.”

Pinterest is what inspires my fashion choices the most, especially since I spend a lot of time on the app. I pick up a lot of inspiration when I don’t know what to wear that day. There are tons of cute outfits I’ve had this spring season and a lot of them are pink—it’s very girly, but I adore it. I definitely prefer shopping in person because I can easily try on clothes without needing to return it or do all that extra stuff. Plus, I get my steps in. I would say, stay true to yourself and express yourself in whatever you want to wear. There is no specific right way to dress in fashion. Nothing can define what you want to dress like. Be yourself.”

I find the most inspiration for my fashion choices during the spring. I really love spring because the weather is just right. It’s not too cold or too hot, which makes dressing up so much easier. I’m especially drawn to embroidery designs on clothes and I feel like spring really complements that kind of aesthetic. If I’m nervous about trying a new style, I’d start small with accessories and slowly mix in what I already have in my closet. My advice is to not be afraid to experiment. Confidence really is everything when it comes to how you present yourself. A pro tip is to organize your closet by color and clothing type to make picking out outfits easier.”

New York has been the biggest inspiration for my style. I love the urban, city-driven fashion that feels bold and effortless. Spring is definitely my favorite season to dress for because I don’t have to cover up my outfits with heavy layers and I can let each piece really stand out. I always prefer shopping in person since it gives me a better sense of how the clothes actually look and feel on me. If I had to give any advice, it would be to be unapologetically you. Growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone, especially when it comes to self-expression. As for my go-to color, it’s black without a doubt. It’s basically my entire closet.”

I’m really inspired by streetwear because it’s what feels most like me. It reflects my personal fashion sense—something that’s comfortable, expressive and a little bold. If I had to pick a favorite season, it would be winter because I love wearing leather jackets. I’ve figured out over time that blue is definitely my color—it brings out my eyes in the best way. If I had any advice to give, it would be this: try the outfit. Throw it on, see how it makes you feel and if you end up looking totally ridiculous, go back home, change and pretend it never happened. One time I wore a super tight leather jacket with flared jeans and it was a disaster.”

When it comes to fashion, I usually find my inspiration through Pinterest and TikTok. Whenever I’m looking for outfit ideas, I turn to those platforms to find something I can recreate in my own style. Spring is my favorite season to dress for because the weather is perfectly in-between, giving me the chance to wear a wide range of looks without being too hot or too cold. As for colors, I think I look best in dark tones like black, grey and navy blue. They just work for me. I definitely prefer shopping online since I have more variety to choose from compared to the limited options in-store. My biggest piece of advice for anyone trying something new is to always be confident. Confidence makes any outfit look better no matter what it is.”

Most of my fashion inspiration comes from online, especially vintage styles that give off that quirky ‘Ms. Frizzle meets cat lady’ vibe. I love outfits that feel a little eccentric and full of character. Winter is hands-down my favorite fashion season since layering really brings my style to life, and summer just feels too limiting. When it comes to shopping, I’m torn. Online has more variety, but nothing beats seeing the quality and fit in person. I usually stick to thrift stores anyway. I’m not a fan of fast fashion and I find newer clothes to be pretty generic. If someone’s nervous about trying a new style, I’d remind them it’s never that serious. People come and go and their opinions do too. Being true to yourself not only boosts your confidence but also draws in the kind of people who appreciate authenticity.”

For me, my fashion choices are really influenced by how I feel. If I wake up in a good mood or when I’m excited for something, I tend to go for brighter colors that match that energy. I think I look best in shades of green and blue, though I might be a little biased since they’re also my favorite colors. It’s all about reflecting my vibe. Fall is definitely my favorite season for fashion because the temperature is just right, giving me more flexibility in what I wear, unlike the extremes of summer or winter. I’m all about shopping in person. It’s the best way to make sure something fits right and feels good. If someone’s nervous about trying a new style, I say just go for it. As long as you wear it with confidence, people will respect it.”
