Q: What college will you attend? What is your intended major and why that major?
A: “I will be attending University of Texas at Arlington and major in mechanical engineering. I love to deal with machinery and transportation.”
Q: What extracurriculars have you been involved in throughout high school?
A: “I played football during my freshman and sophomore years. Recently I’ve been involved in Student Council, mentoring, NHS, Interact, SAPP and JWAC.”
Q: What was the most challenging aspect about balancing extracurriculars and academics?
A: “Trying to find a balance between homework, academics, extracurriculars and personal life.”
Q: What class was the most challenging for you? Why?
A: “AP chemistry was the most challenging. The workload was more than anything I’ve ever done before.”
Q: Who has helped you the most throughout these last four years? How have they helped you?
A: “My mom. She’s always supporting me at home by taking care of stuff and always believing in me. She’s somebody I can always rely on.”
Q: What has been the most memorable part of high school?
A: “Senior sunrise and senior sunset were pretty memorable — it’s good to see everybody. Knowing that you won’t be here next year makes you appreciate it even more. I also loved Friday night lights.”
Q: What advice would you give to your freshman self?
A: “Slow down and take things one day at a time. It’s important to know what you want for the future, but don’t rush it. If I could go back, I would’ve embraced more opportunities like going to homecoming because it all passes by faster than you think.”
Q: What are you most excited about regarding college?
A: “The atmosphere. That’s why I’m choosing to go to UTA. It’s very different and diverse so I’m excited to get involved over there and meet new people.”
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
A: “I hope to have a stable job and be financially stable. I love traveling, so I hope to see more places — Europe especially, since there’s so much to see.”
Q: What would you change about your high school experience?
A: “There’s a lot I could say, but nothing specific comes to mind. I believe everything that has happened shaped who I am today and I wouldn’t change that for anything.”
