Q: What college will you attend? What is your intended major and why that major?
A: “I plan on attending UT Austin. I’m going to be a computer science major because I have always loved coding and designing regarding technology, pursuing computer science will help me do that.”
Q: What extracurriculars have you been involved in throughout high school?
A: “My main extracurricular has been band. I have been in the program all four years of high school. I’ve also been part of academic decathlon this past year and I was in UIL computer science my junior year.”
Q: What was the most challenging aspect about balancing extracurriculars and academics?
A: “Making sure that I didn’t procrastinate on my academic work. Extracurricular activities are always planned in advance, but for academic work, I have full control over it.”
Q: What class was the most challenging for you? Why?
A: “The most challenging class for me was AP physics because there was so much new content and the tests were hard.”
Q: Who has helped you the most throughout these last four years? How have they helped you?
A: “My parents. They’ve been very supportive, they always give me the tools I need [and] they encourage me. They have been a really big part of my life.”
Q: What has been the most memorable part of high school?
A: “The band memories, hanging out with friends, riding to competitions and even sophomore year when we went to area finals retreat. There have been so many memories with band which was the biggest part.”
Q: What advice would you give to your freshman self?
A: “Be more open and explore all activities in high school because it’s your last chance to truly explore all the activities you want to do.”
Q: What are you most excited about regarding college?
A: “The totally new environment and having a more flexible schedule.”
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
A: “I see myself at a major software company like Google or Apple.”
Q: What would you change about your high school experience?
A: “Just being more open and trying to talk to more people.”
