Q: Why did you want to be part of the AVID program?
A: “I wanted to be part of the AVID program because there’s lots of communication. It also keeps me organized and helps me learn more about colleges so I can be prepared for my future.”
Q: What do you hope to gain from AVID?
A: “I hope to gain more college prep skills and stay more involved. I want to continue to be in AVID for my senior year because I am focused on college, and I want to keep on knowing more about it.”
Q: Describe a time you had to work hard for something or faced a challenge. What did you learn?
A: “I remember my sophomore year I wasn’t able to understand my algebra work, and I learned that unit by going to tutoring. Also, I learned by using the TRF method with my class.”
Q: What do you do when you are struggling in an academic class?
A: “I ask friends to help me out if I use the [TRF] method. When I’m struggling, I just ask classmates because we are one big team and we are there for each other.”
Q: Where do you want to go to college and why?
A: “I would like to go to Texas Woman’s University because the amount of times I’ve got to visit the campus I’ve seen all the opportunities they have.”
Q: What makes you feel proud of your accomplishments?

Q: What does AVID mean to you?
A: “What AVID means to me is I can be what and who I want to be with the support of so many people.”
