‘Fun Run – Multiplayer Race’ by DirtyBit Games is a highly grossing app that features quirky woodland creatures, simple mechanics, and gruesome death that makes for a perfect can’t-put-this-down game reminiscent of the violent Happy Tree Friends series.

The app was released in Android and Apple stores on September 5, 2012 and in one month has gained massive popularity.

Fun Run is essentially a death race between the most unexpected of contenders – little animals, as they race to the finish line, all while being punched by jack in the boxes, sliced in half by sawblades, beheaded by bear traps, or electrocuted by bolts of lightning.

And in light of the constant show of blood and gore, we just can’t bring ourselves to put put our phones down.

The game offers minimalistic mechanics that any beginner can just pick up and start sawing away at. With a self moving side scroll runner, and a simple jump and power up button, it’s no surprise that there has been a huge jump in the app installs.

It also spans a selection of 9 maps and a total of 8 power-ups as well as an in-game store to customize your furry little animal. But the most enticing features of the game are without a doubt the buddy and ranking systems. Competing with friends and moving up in the Fun Run hierarchy really brings in a competitive aspect to the app.
