La Playita:

We all scream for La Playita

I go to La Playita for two reasons; one is when I want some ice cream after spending time outside. The second is their strawberry ice cream and their shaved ice that looks like a rainbow. There are a lot of Hispanic desserts as well. One is a chocobanana, which is a banana covered with chocolate and sprinkles. They also have sweet pastries called flan. There is an optional vegetarian offer which is a chicharon made of flour fried into a big square and has a variety of vegetables. It is topped with Mexican cream.

YULYANA’S TIP: The only thing I don’t like from La Playita is a hispanic desert called elote. It’s better to buy them at Terry’s or El Rancho.

SALLY Beauty:

Brush away your bores with SALLY Beauty

SALLY Beauty sells all different products for hair, nails and makeup. The employees are knowledgeable about cosmetics, so they can help you when you need advice about any of their beauty products. I love buying their nail polish because they have colors that are hard to find in other places. They also have good deals like buy two get the third one free.

YULYANA’S TIP: When they ask if you want a card for SALLY Beauty, you should get it because you get one dollar off every time you make a purchase.

Buffet Palace:

Eat like a royal

I love going to the Buffet Palace because it’s cheap and you can eat as much as you want. I love that buffets allow for different choices for each member of my family. The food at Buffet Palace should never leave anyone of any age hungry. They even have food that caters toward vegetarians. I personally don’t care for sushi, but there is a variety of it as well.

YULYANA’S TIP: You should be thanking the great people who invented buffets.

Half Price Books:

Read for half

I love that at Half Price Books a book doesn’t cost more than $40 like they sometimes do in other book stores. A lot of books that were recently released are expensive in other books stores, but the good thing about Half Price Books is that they don’t tend to charge as much. If you don’t know where to find the book you are looking for the people who work there will help you and even recommend other books you may be interested in.

YULYANA’S TIP: Read a book that you usually don’t read; you may like it at the end of the day.

Mango Loco:

Fruity delicious

If you have never tasted strawberries and cream then you should definitely go to Mango Loco because they have good dessert. The strawberries and cream will be the best you have ever had. They also sell other food, including tortas and gorditas, but my favorite thing to eat there are the fries.

YULYANA’S TIP: They also sell plain chopped fruit for the fruit lovers out there.
