Top albums to release in 2017
If anything, 2016 was at least the year for music. With Grammy nominated albums like “Lemonade” and “Dangerous Women,” no one can deny amazing music was produced last year. But with that in mind, what’s in store for 2017? Here are 10 artists, in no particular order, making their comebacks with new albums supposedly dropping sometime this year.
Nicki Minaj
The queen of rap is scheduled to make another comeback even though she never really left. Despite keeping a low profile, she was still able to feature in hit songs that placed in the top 100 songs of 2016 according to Billboard. Some say her next album might be a diss track against Kylie Jenner, Miley Cyrus and Meek Mill, so just be thankful you didn’t disrespect Minaj during 2016.
Cher Lloyd
British pop princess Cher Llyod is finally planned to make a return after four years. Everyone remembers “Swagger Jagger” and “Want You Back.” Her last album “Sorry I’m Late” didn’t do too well on the music charts, so the public is hoping whatever she has planned next will make up for it. She released a video on her Twitter saying how she’s scared to make a return. However, with fans like hers, she could release anything and they would still love it.
Iggy Azalea
Some might be upset while others might be excited, but whether you like it or not, Iggy Azalea has a new album coming out in 2017. She was called a one-hit wonder with her last album, so she has to prove to the world she means business with her next. Azalea announced through Twitter that her new album will be titled “Digital Distortion.”
Troye Sivan
A former YouTube sensation and now a rising musician, Troye Sivan, has his second album releasing this year. A name has not yet been confirmed, but there are talks about a world tour as well. Whatever he has in store, his fans are in for a treat from the Aussie singer.
Lorde
The 20 year old New Zealander Indie pop artist is finally ready to make her comeback from when she released her first hit album “Pure Heroine” in 2013. Fans expect the same type of music from her, but after all this time her next album better be good. She has been keeping a low profile and is set to perform at Coachella this summer. Fans are praying the rumor about Lorde giving a sample of her new music there is true.
Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson has finally, after many years, left her old music record label for Atlantic Records. She came out and said her new album is something different than what fans are used to. Hopefully she can pull off the soulful blues style because that’s what her next album is all about.
Tinashe
The 23 year old already has a new album coming out this year after releasing one less than than four months ago. According to Twitter, “Joyride” is Tinashe’s new album title and it is supposed to be the second part of her last album “Nightride.” With hit songs from last year including “Superlove” and a feature in Britney Spears’ “Slumber Party,” fans are only assuming the best for her part two album.
John Mayer
The acoustic rock and blues artist John Mayer has confirmed a new album titled “The Search for Everything.” Some say his new music is based on his old ex Taylor Swift, but others aren’t sure he would go that low. Some hope his music style changes a little. Every song sounds the same according to some fans, so who knows what’s in store for his upcoming album.
Christina Aguilera
The queen of powerhouse vocals is supposedly rising again with her unnamed next album. After being on “The Voice” for six seasons, she has finally recorded her next studio album which is set to drop later this year and fans are sure it will be nothing short of a masterpiece.
Charli XCX
The one hit wonder known from the popular track “Fancy” has her second studio album coming this year. Her last album “Sucker” didn’t do too bad on the charts, but it wasn’t enough to keep her in the spotlight. This could be her last chance to make it big.
