One of the best activities during the summer is seeing a good movie. Hollywood knows it, as some of the biggest movies of each year are released during the summer months. So, from least anticipated to most anticipated, here is our list of the top eight movies for summer 2018.

8. “Ocean’s 8” – June 8 – Something about a good heist movie brings joy to the hearts of moviegoers. Maybe it’s the thrills and cunning plans, or maybe people simply like thieves. “Ocean’s 8” appears to bring all of that, and what’s more, the cast is star studded, with the likes of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway. Sounds like a recipe for success if there ever was one.

7. “Solo: A Star Wars Story” – May 25 – If you love “Star Wars,” then it has been a good couple of years. Movie after movie, TV show after TV show, fans of the timeless franchise have been receiving plenty of new content to love, and that trend continues with “Solo.” Despite the massive issues this poor smuggler’s tale faced during production, Solo looks to be as massively successful and fun to watch as any “Star Wars” film. If a “Star Wars” movie can make Harrison Ford praise the acting, then something must have been done right.

6. “Replicas” – August 24 – No doubt about it: Keanu Reeves is amazing, and this trailer, while sadly overshadowed by the “Pacific Rim 2” trailer that dropped the same day, looks amazing. The basis for the story is incredibly unique, something that is a rare find in Hollywood these days. While it might not be the crown jewel of the box office, “Replicas” looks to be an awesome one either way.

5. “Mama Mia: Here we go again” – July 20 – The first movie adaptation of the Broadway musical is a cult classic, and the sequel seems to be heading down that route, adding Cher among others to the already star-studded cast. The sequel appears to be capturing the spirit of the original and will surely be an enjoyable summer movie.

4. “Mission Impossible: Fallout” – July 27 – Superman fighting Tom Cruise? You’d have to be a hater of movies not to want that. What appears to be an intricately crafted plot compliments the undeniable acting skill of the two leads and makes “Fallout” a can’t-miss movie.

3. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” – July 6 – C’mon! It’s Marvel! Actors Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas blew fans away in 2015 with the first “Ant-Man,” and the sequel is looking to be every bit as impressive as the original. Not to mention with the additions of Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Pfeiffer and Walton Goggins, this blockbuster is sure to impress.

2. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” – June 22 – Dinosaurs. Chris Pratt. Jeff Goldblum. Do you need anything else?

1. “The Incredibles 2” – June 15 – It has been 10 years. “The Incredibles,” one of Pixar’s finest films to date, has long deserved a proper sequel, and it finally arrives this June. Both kids and adults will be rushing to see this one in theaters, which makes it the most anticipated film of the summer.
