Year after year, musicians sing their hearts out to every song. Every year, they receive the recognition they deserve at the American Music Awards. This year, singer/songwriter Ciara will host the award ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 24 on ABC at 7 p.m.

The predicticted winners for this year’s American Music Awards are:

Artist Of The Year:

Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Post Malone, Taylor Swift

And the award goes to… Taylor Swift! Since releasing her debut self-titled album, “Taylor Swift,” Swift has recorded seven albums which show emotions such as anger, heartbreak and happiness throughout her teenage years to her entrance into adulthood. With more than 10 years of experience in the music industry, she definitely deserves this award.

Favorite Female Artist:

Beyoncé, Lizzo, Ella Mai

And the award goes to… Beyoncé! Since the rise of her stardom in the band “Destiny’s Child,” Beyoncé has proven herself as a talented artist as she transitioned into her own music platform by separating from the group. By performing her own songs such as “Single Ladies,” “Halo” and “Lemonade,” she shows she is a one-of-a-kind singer.

Favorite Male Artist:

Drake, Khalid, Post Malone

And the award goes to… Drake! With his R&B and hip hop music, he is sure to win Favorite Male Artist this year. Drake made a name for himself when he starred in “Degrassi: The Next Generation” in  2001, while collaborating early on with stars like Rihanna and Kanye West when he began his music career. When he released his newest album “Care Package” in August, fans realized the tone of his songs were softer, adding a soulful tune to the album while paying tribute to his signature rapping style. Because of that, he certainly deserves this award.

Favorite Song:

“Without Me” by Halsey, “Sucker” by Jonas Brothers, “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus, “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco and “Sunflower (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”)” by Post Malone & Swae Lee

And the award goes to… “Sucker” by the Jonas Brothers. With the split of the band in 2009, die-hard Jonas Brothers fans were crushed. But once the band announced the release of the song “Sucker” in August, fans were ecstatic. The six-year wait was worth it to see the Jonas Brothers reunite since releasing their last single “The First Time.” With the release of “Sucker,” the Jonas Brothers prove they deserve this award.

Favorite Album:

“WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?” by Billie Eilish, “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande“Lover” by Taylor Swift

And the award goes to… “Lover” by Taylor Swift! Since Swift released her album “Red” in 2012, she showed the world she would take a mature approach toward her music. With the release of “Lover” in August, she has proven she is no longer the singer/songwriter who writes about boys and heartbreak. With her mature approach with her music, the award should be given to Swift.

Favorite Music Video:

“bad guy” by Billie Eilish,  “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande, “Without Me” by Halsey, “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus, “You Need to Calm Down” by Taylor Swift

And the award goes to “You Need To Calm Down” by Taylor Swift! With the joyful and lively vibe in the music video, Swift has created a masterpiece everyone can watch, no matter what mood they are in. Once more, she has proven she is an asset to the music industry and without a doubt deserves this award.
