In light of Journalism teacher, Village church member, and beloved family member Corey Hale’s recent medical complications, roommate John Hicks has organized a spaghetti fundraising dinner on October 9 at Lewisville High School’s open house.
The event will attempt to relieve some of the financial burden forced upon Hale and his family. The fundraiser dinner will be from 5pm until the end of open house. Plates will be a minimum of $5 per person.
During the summer, Hale underwent surgery, which involved the dividing of the stomach and the realigning of the intestines. However, due to an open stitch which led to a severe infection, Hale was rushed to the Hospital on Friday the 24th and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Along with the fact of the fundraiser dinner, t-shirts will be sold, and a silent auction will be held the night of in the cafiteria. Donations are currently being accepted for this event – including cash donations as well as food and auction items. Donations can be placed at HelpCorey.com, which will be available on September 22. The Lewisville High School Farmer’s Harvest Newspaper staff will also be collecting donations as well as answering questions in room G215 during regular school hours.
