Dress your way to prom
Fashion show to help lower cost of tickets
Don’t know what to wear to prom? Students can find ideas as the prom fashion show on Feb. 19 in the auditorium.
The cost is $4 to attend, and all the proceeds go to lowering the price of this year’s prom tickets.
Fashion show ticket sales will start today and continue until Feb. 18 in the cafeteria. In order to leave second period, every student must have a ticket.
So far prom tickets are $65, but after the fashion show, the range will be $55 to $60.
“This gets students excited about prom and interested in it to come,” junior class Vice President Nnenna Ijoma said. “I think it will be a success because we have really good models and it will be fun.”
The junior class sponsors the event with help from Student Council. David’s Bridal and Men’s Wearhouse are the community partners who are donating the formal wear. The leaders of the school are the prom fashion show models.
“It gets the Presidents Club involved in something major,” Student Council advisor Allison Stamey said. “It raises money from the students that do attend and goes back into to the prom budget.”
Senior Bryan Arellano said he plans on attending the show.
“I’m going to the prom fashion show because I need to get ideas on what to wear to prom,” Arellano said.
This is the first time the fashion show will be held during school. The show will begin in the second half of second period and last a few minutes into A block lunch.
