The Farmerettes will be hosting their annual holiday show Saturday, Dec 2. in the auditorium foyer at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10, and children under 3 years old can attend the show for free. Tickets can be purchased online.
The show will contain several different dance styles of jazz, hip hop, tap and traditional high kick. Farmerette head director Hannah Pascual and assistant director Ally Turquette hope this event will allow everyone to see how hard Farmerettes work; they want to show the public what the girls are capable of.
“We want to expose the community to what we do,” Turquette said. “We obviously do football games, but we do more than just football routines. We are an all-year program, not just one season. Our season never ends.”
The Farmerettes have prepared for this performance since October with morning and in-class practices. This caused them to mesh two seasons together. Practicing both football routines and holiday show dances caused difficulties in cleaning up the routines.
“Managing two seasons at the same time was definitely complicated,” Farmerette Director Hannah Pascual said. “We started our Christmas choreography around the same time we were still working on football season meaning we had to stay open minded.”
All of the team wishes for this to be a fun performance the community will enjoy. According to Pascual and Turquette, the show will be full of surprises and they hope it will be a good way to start off the Christmas season.
“I’m excited for all my friends and family to see the show,” Farmerette captain Katherine Gore said. “We all have worked really hard and it has also been fun. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
