The football team faces undefeated Allen High School, ranked number one in the nation according to rivalshigh.com, on the road Friday.
“I think it will be a good test for us,” junior quarterback Corey Duran said. “And I think it will be fun for us to play against the number 1 team in the nation, and we probably won’t ever get that chance again. And I think we have a good chance of beating them.”
The Farmers played their first district game against Plano West last week at Goldsmith Stadium, resulting in a 24-21 loss.
“It hurt,” junior running back Rodrick Williams said. “We should have won the game and we had our mistakes but we got them fixed and we’re ready to play on Friday.”
The Farmers fell to 2-2 overall with their second straight loss, after opening the season with wins over Grand Prairie and Carrollton Creekview. Coach Dick Olin said there is a lot that the team needs to work on.
“Offensively we have to continue to improve our passing game, run game,” Olin said. “Defensively we‘re getting better all the time.”
