Football host a fundraiser to raise money for necessary equipment.

The first Snap Raise football fundraiser is currently underway to help the football department afford new equipment and practice gear.

“Every year the football committee does a ‘bench a thon,” head coach Greg Miller said. “It’s where they cover the entire football field full of bench presses and allow people to go out and bench as many pounds as they want and however many pounds they bench will be how much money they donate in cents.”

Throughout the years many people drew concern to the fact that they couldn’t use a credit card at the fundraiser. To fix that, they decided to use the Snap Raise website. The company sets everything up and also creates a video of the team explaining the purpose of the fundraiser and what the goal is.

“Snap Raise allows individuals to go to the website and use their credit card to donate as much money as they want,” Miller said. “After the fundraiser is over the company writes a check to the LHS football department.”

All the money that is raised will help with the cost of meals, travel and equipment.

“We depend a lot on our practice pads because while we’re wearing those, we’re preparing to make ourselves better players so we can show out on the field,” junior Kwame Mickles said.

The team will be very grateful to know that people care enough to help them get the equipment they deserve.

“Thank you in advance to everybody who is or has already donated, you guys are the reason why we’re able to shine as bright as we do,” Mickles said.
