Five students discuss their dream homecoming proposal
Senior Brandon Arellano uses a creative approach, like many have done this year, to ask senior Lesley Gutierrez to homecoming.
My dream homecoming proposal would have to be a flash mob in front of the whole school in the cafeteria, through the halls, and leading to the arena most likely.

Well last year my date asked me by having one of my friends take me down to the arena, saying that coach Miguel needed to talk to me. Then when I got down there they had the Farmerettes with their pom poms and everything, lined up. Then I walked through the Farmerettes and the cheerleaders were doing a chant and doing little flips. Then the drumline was playing a song and then to the side my friends held up a sign that said, ‘Would you go to homecoming with me?’ It was like a mini pep rally.

My dream proposal is to have lots of balloons and a cute poster that has something on it that pertains to me as a person. [Something] specific [that] describes me, not just something like [giving me] Chick Fil A. I just like lots of balloons, they just make me happy.

I think my dream homecoming proposal would be with donuts. Who wouldn’t want donuts with their homecoming proposal? Even if you say no, you can still get the donuts because they already bought them. And then spell ‘I donut know what I would do without you.’

It’s kind of cliche or so, but I feel like my dream proposal would be like you coming into your room and finding a thousand balloons in your room. Then like a big poster saying, ‘Would you fly up to homecoming with me?’ I think that would be the most cutest thing in the world.
