Lady Farmers to face South Garland tonight
Coming from a loss last Friday 76-67 against Allen [6-8], the Lady Farmers [8-7] play South Garland [4-8] here tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Farmers have two games left before district games start Jan.3. Heading into district, the team is working on defense.
“I feel like defense wins championships,” head coach Charlotte Jones said. “My main focus is shutting teams down.”
The team practices are getting better because the players have realized that “how you practice is how you play,” Jones said.
“[To prepare for district games] I practice here [in school] and outside of school,” senior Monisha Neal said.
Neal scored 30 points in the game against Allen, and sophomore Naomi Hawkins scored 19 points.
For some players, the loss to Allen wasn’t all negative.
“I’ve learned not to take everything so hard and to use my mistakes and work harder to fix them,” junior Alex Shumway said.

My favorite aspect of Lewisville High is
the pride. Everyone has Farmer pride and it is always shown in dress up days, at pep rallies and at football...

I enjoy journalism because:
It’s fun to write about the different sports and events going on and being involved.
