In my four years at Lewisville I have lost and gained much. I have found things I never thought I would, and even turned my back on things I thought I never would. I have watched the school transform not only into the new building, but also watched it transform me in ways I am grateful for. I have grown as person, journalist, athlete, and farmer. I am as prepared as any 18-year-old could be to go out into the world, ready to tackle whatever life throws at me.
I have experienced things that I know I couldn’t ever have at any other high school. I am glad I got to know most of the girls that played basketball with me. I am grateful for some awesome friends from newspaper and getting to experience new things with mentoring through StuCo and filming in football.
I have many people to thank for helping me succeed along my journey of high school. Besides the obvious of my wonderful parents who guided and taught me, I have many people to thank.
Coach Cross took the time to help me with my game and push me to be a better player. She always has a moment to talk to me and listen when I need her to.
Coach Elam, pushed me in ways I didn’t know were possible. Every time I wanted to lay down and quit, I couldn’t. She pushes you past the point of giving up. That made me into a stronger person and I am thankful that I got the chance to know her. I admire the fact that she is honest with you and doesn’t sugar coat anything. I never had to second guess what coach Elam was telling me. She made me into a stronger person in more ways than one.
Coach Mosby, thank you for being so awesome. You always have something positive to say to me and I will forever be grateful that I got the chance to know you.
The football coaching staff made my day with funny stories and things they would say to the boys and the games. Coach Miller always had advice for us film girls. He would listen to everything and anything we would have to say and could always make us smile. Coach Brixey would always tell us the funniest things, and make time to talk to us and entertain us with the funny things he said to the boys. Lastly coach, thank you to Johnson for always listening to us complain.
Even though Mrs. Sonta is no longer a teacher at LHS, the wisdom she gave me will always be with me. Her class was the one of the only things I looked forward to as a sophomore. That last hour and half gave me some of the best memories. I met new people and gained a teacher that I could talk to with tears streaming down my face, or joking around.
Mrs. Stockard always had something positive and nice to say, it was a good way to start off my morning. I will miss having her complement my outfits and telling me I should be a model.
Mr. Hale, thank you for putting up with me and teaching me a lot about journalism. I will carry everything you taught me into my college career and professional career as a journalist.
Mrs. Mosby, you’ve changed my whole entire high school life more than any other person here. You helped me reach my dreams and expand past them. You gave me an opportunity to do everything and more. I couldn’t have asked for a better counselor. I couldn’t have done everything in high school and meet some of the best people at LHS without your help. The only thing I can think to say is thank you. Any student who gets you is getting one fantastic counselor.
To the Farmers’ Harvest Staff, you guys have given me a truly wonderful experience in the world of journalism, as well as the trips, covering sporting events, or those wonderfully fun staff nights. I will miss the substitutes (NOT) and the stress of producing a awesome paper with the best staff!
The Film Crew, aside from the drama and craziness that came, I had a lot of fun. I got exposed to a sport that I truly fell in love with!
My basketball team, even though the faces changed many times, I consider you all a special part of my four years. I enjoyed all the fun team dinners, Christmas parties and hanging out. I have many memories to happily let go and watch the sport with enthusiasm.
To all my friends thank you for being there for me when I needed it and the fun memories I will have forever. I wish you all luck in the next stage of your life!
I will miss the familiar halls, teachers, and people I have met. Thank you for a truly wonderful high school experience.
