Lady Farmers tied with Marcus for final playoff spot with just two district matches left

The Lady Farmer volleyball team will play its final home game against second place Hebron tonight at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Farmers are currently tied with Marcus for fourth place and the last playoff spot, and will close the regular season with first place Coppell on Tuesday. The Lady Marauders face third place Flower Mound tonight and Hebron on Tuesday. If LHS and Marcus are still tied after Tuesday, then a tie-breaker will be needed.

“If we tie with Marcus then we will have to play them again for the fourth place spot to go to playoffs, so it’s like a playoff to go to playoffs,” head coach Libby Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said the extra game, if needed, could be played as early as Halloween night, but could also be on Nov. 1 or 2.

Senior Lyandria Taylor expressed how she felt about playing her last home game.

“It’s bittersweet because I know it is our last game here, and I’m just gonna try to make the best of it,” Taylor said.

Rodriguez agreed.

“We have come such a long way in a short amount of time and tonight we are just going to have fun,” Rodriguez said.
