StuCo hosts prom fashion show
Annual event to raise money for prom
Student Council will be putting on a fashion show Feb. 17 in the auditorium during the second half of second period. Students who have tickets will be released at 10:25 to go to the auditorium and the show will last until 11:30.
“We used to have it at night but we didn’t have a lot of students coming,” StuCo adviser Dan Moser said. “It was mostly parents, so Mr. Kajs gave us permission to move it to be during lunch.”
The show will be comprised of students modeling, including senior Adela Reiland.
“There’s going to be twenty different dresses and twenty different styles and colors of suits,” Reiland said. “First we’ll all walk out together and then it will get more specific. You’ll see each dress that every model is wearing and then we do a big group shot at the end.”
The dresses are being provided by David’s Bridal and the suits are being provided by Men’s Warehouse. Students will have a chance to talk to the models about their dresses and tuxes after the show.
“I think it will be helpful for people,” junior Seth Spears said. “Especially juniors who haven’t gone to prom yet, so they can know what to look for.”
The show will also provide a chance for students to win discounted prom tickets, suit and dress coupons and restaurant coupons.
Tickets are still available after school today and through first period tomorrow morning for $5 in room G144.
