Students attending prom must decide between a multitude of dresses and tuxedos, and it can be difficult to decide on attire that shows off one’s style and coordinates with a date. To help students with this decision, the junior class will host the ninth annual prom fashion show tomorrow during second period.

Tickets cost $5 and money raised will go toward funding prom. The last chance to buy tickets is tomorrow in G144 during announcements, but only at teacher discretion.

“We are big on traditions,” StuCo adviser Allison Stamey said. “About 13 years ago we did a most handsome and most beautiful pageant, and then my 2008 president had an idea to do Runway for Research where we just modeled, which turned into the prom fashion show.”

The show will showcase 20 boys and 20 girls all comprised of juniors and seniors. To decide the models for the show, the officers ask presidents and team captains of each club if they would like to participate. If more models are needed, the officers then ask around during lunch.

The apparel is from Men’s Wearhouse and David’s Bridal. The models are sized at both places, and employees also help determine the partners for the show as who will be walking out together is determined by color and height.

“Since they do have the sizes and have seen the girls, I’m pretty sure they will do a good job picking which dress looks good on each girl,” junior class president Gabby Tapia said.

Even with the pressure of a lot of the student body attending the fashion show, the models are still looking forward to tomorrow.

“I’m excited and nervous since everybody at school will see me in a dress, but at the same time I went to prom last year,” model Faith Patton said.
