Student athletic trainers are currently selling Butter Braids to help buy new equipment and host future events. The last day to order the pastries is this Friday, Nov. 1. Customers should expect to receive their pastries around Dec. 12.
“It’s going toward us so we can help the athletes,” senior Mekhiah McCloud said.
Orders can be placed online, and before checking out to purchase, purchasers can choose a specific student athletic trainer to support.
“My friends and family will help me out for the fundraiser,” junior Cameron Williams said. “My mom’s friend knows a lot of people.”
The target audience is for bread lovers and anyone who wishes to get a tasty pastry for the holiday season. The Butter Braid flavors include: apple, blueberry and cream cheese, cherry, chocolate braided pastry with white icing, cinnamon, strawberry and cream cheese, four cheese herb, bavarian creme with chocolate icing, cream cheese, raspberry, caramel with caramel glaze and cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. Kolaches are also available, and donations can also be made on the website without purchasing a Butter Braid.
“We hope this helps to make meals more festive at the holiday get-togethers as well as make breakfast easy for anyone in a hurry,” coach Melissa Tice said. “Families gravitate toward bread as fun holiday desserts and easy delicious breakfast options that fill your tummy and make you happy.”
