Farmer Feedback: 2026-2027 StuCo officers

How will you take part in the improvement of the Student Council this upcoming year?

“

I went for my position because I want to make sure every voice is heard by letting everyone speak and try to [understand] where they’re coming from. As for my campaign, I advertised it by making stickers of my face, putting posters around the school and passing out candy every morning and during lunch. I also introduced myself to students so they could become familiar with me. What inspired me the most was seeing all the smiles on my friends’ and teachers’ faces and hearing them tell me how proud they are. They encouraged me to keep going and that made me want to make the school better.”

My primary goal is to make senior year feel fun and that we can enjoy it because it’s the only one we get. I have been an officer since my freshma n year, which ultimately developed my leadership skills. I’ve also attended camps like the Texas Association Of Student Councils (TASC) summer workshops, Mo Ranch and state conferences. I want to continue doing events and decorate the walls in the hallways to make students feel spirited. During my journey, senior vice president Samantha Muñoz definitely helped me become one of the leaders I am today. She has guided me with this transition to becoming a better leader. I want to use her as inspiration to become a great vice president like her.”

 I decided to run for my position because I really wanted to be more involved. As secretary, I would like to start a newsletter for StuCo so I can keep all the events and community service hours organized. My top priorities for this upcoming year is to make sure everyone knows about events going on and ensure all students’ voices are heard by acknowledging everyone’s opinions and communicating with officers to have better changes. During my campaign, I created posters where people could take candy and gum from it. I think that was very effective because it got a lot of people’s attention. Now that I’ve achieved my position, I want people to be aware and be comfortable of how we run StuCo next year, especially when it comes to our schedule and communications.”

I decided to become an officer because I grew up close with the current multicultural officer and seeing what she did inspired me to put myself out there. As a multicultural officer, my job is to inform students about cultural events happening throughout the year. That includes making posters and decorating the walls for events such as Chinese New Year and giving information about them because they need to be spoken of more. My priority overall is to definitely push more culture out there.   We’re doing a good job now, but I feel like we could always do better. We could be more of a community. Although we are close right now, I think we could be closer in order to get more things done. If we don’t communicate, we won’t understand each other.”

The reason I decided to run for my position [is because] it seemed really fun and interesting. My job is to advertise on the school pages, make flyers, post them online and take pictures of every event that’s going to happen. I was in StuCo since sophomore year, so I’ve had a pretty good understanding about what they do, how they do it and what the people want. I’m also in yearbook, so I take good pictures. What inspires me to keep going is all the senior officers are really talkative and are able to communicate a lot.  They’re the ones who influenced me to join. Likewise, my priorities for the next school year is to ensure everyone is aware of what we do in StuCo, influence people to join more events and make sure everyone has fun.”

I decided to run for my position because ever since I joined StuCo, I found helping my community really fills me with joy and happiness. As a community service office, my role is to reach outside organizations and keep in contact so whenever there are new opportunities, I can provide it to the students. My top priorities for the next school year would be to find even more volunteer opportunities, encourage people to attend events by giving them extra points and to always post services as soon as they are available. I honestly just want students to be prepared and organized the most.”

I’m the senior class project officer, and my top priority for next year is to make the kindness club bigger and have more people feel included. I’ve essentially been in StuCo for three years, and I’ve learned many things. I’ve been going to the workshops, where I meet with other student councils and share ideas with them for the upcoming year. I then take those ideas and try to put them into our school year. What I want is to make enough projects for the upcoming seniors that are specific yet simple enough for them to be able to pick it up. After all, I know the process can be confusing so I want them to know exactly what they’re doing. It’s important to me for the students to feel an importance toward the projects we are working on.”

I decided to run for my position because when it comes to school stores, I think it’s nice to see people wearing their school colors and having the words ‘Lewisville’ on their shirt. I want to make it to where it [becomes] a fashion trend and make people feel included with the designs.  For next year, my goal is to leave behind a good setup for the next future classes because I know it can be hard to transition.  I’m thinking about getting more sponsors and [giving more] representation throughout our whole community.  I would also make sure communication is accessible. It’s all about being on the same page so everyone’s voice matters. It’s really important to talk about the things that need to be discussed even if they’re uncomfortable. My advice is to just have fun because you don’t want to make people overwhelmed. You want to make it to where people want to be involved and show up.”

I originally decided to become a historian just so I can be creative when it comes to social media, but I ended up being a school service officer which was my second choice. I think it would be good for me because I’m good at marketing and that’s what we need in order for the school store to sell more products.  I have experience in working with the team and being a leader of the school by being in StuCo for two years. By the end of next year, I plan to sell a lot of merchandise and keep that flow of income. We officers have to bond before we can work so just having that bond will help us work together and create something great.  For members, getting to know them and giving them solutions to their problems will make a big, happy StuCo family.”

“

I tried for my position because I was in the environment committee this past year, and I really enjoyed it.  I can walk around with my friends, recycle paper and I always have a good time. Being the only one running for parliamentarian, it was relatively easy to get my position but I still tried.  I passed around candy with a little shark bucket in the morning so people could vote for me. My job is mainly to make sure we recycle every other day and make sure every printer in the building has enough paper. I also help with some decorations and fun activities. For example, during Christmas, we normally have a tree made of water bottles. The senior officers have honestly inspired me a lot. They seem to actually love what they’re doing and always have that positive energy with them. They were the ones who pushed me to run for my position because at the beginning, I wasn’t really sure whether I really wanted to do it, but here we are today.”

“It’s that little souvenir, of a colorful year, which makes me smile inside. So I cynically, cynically say the world is that way. Surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise.” – “Here’s Where the Story Ends” by The Sundays. Senior Jenny Thang had never been ready for anything in her life, but she knows that reading comics will be her biggest motivation when things get tough — accompanied by food, of course. As an editor-in-chief, she hopes to finish high school by developing new skills that will highlight her commitment for her passion in writing well beyond the classroom. While she has faced many allegations of procrastination, she’s made affirmations to push beyond her limits this time.

Feeling bittersweet after years of dedication, senior Yasin Seck is excited to experience her last moments as a teen. This year, she is eager to be more positive and less hard on herself by living in the moment. As it is her last year on the newspaper staff, she is motivated to learn more from her peers and take the best shots.
