Each year, there were 36 weeks consisting of 6 a.m alarms, four class periods, and “I can’t, I have a test today.” It was a constant yet consistent schedule of exams, after school events, and Friday night lights. Four years, all fitting onto the cap and gown I will wear, full of the memories and feelings high school has brought me. Yet what I won’t regret is the friends and lifelong memories I won’t ever forget.
To Newspaper: I will miss you wholeheartedly, despite all the loud conjunction and crazy stories I would hear when working. I loved every second of this class, and if I could do it again, I would. May next year’s newspaper be bigger and better. I will miss every single one of you guys. Even Gabriel I guess…

To AVID: Thank you for implementing academic success and instilling me to believe in myself. There were times where all we did was laugh and joke around and there were times where we had to be serious. Yet throughout all the fours year I spent with y’all, it was all a blessing.
To Jenny and Yasin: I started newspaper with one hope: to publish work. I didn’t know along the way I would build a great friendship with two funny, sweet and pretty girls. I will miss our talks on the couch and going together for interviews and taking pictures while goofing around. Wherever we go, even if the distance is small or large, I will always remember the times we shared together. For Yasin: may you become the best lawyer and succeed immensely. For Jenny: may you become the best version of a doctor.

To Allison, Adrianna and Zion: I don’t think I have ever been so close to someone as friends as much as I have been with you guys. Since freshman year, our friendship has grown and each day it grows stronger. I will miss going to school together and talking about anything and everything no matter how bad it was. I know we will keep contact, but I know there will be one day where we will be stuck within our own lives, but my love and support will always be there for you guys. You guys are more than wonderful and for that I will always be grateful for the friendship that has been blessed to me. I love you guys.

To Mrs. Pinkham: To describe a perfect teacher, it would be you. Your persistence and kindness is something that makes you a great person and teacher. Thank you for your patience whenever I would have to finish a story or review, taking pictures and even when I wanted to vent to you about my feelings. I will miss you, and even as I am typing this right now, there are tears in my eyes. Thank you for the two years you have blessed me with and may your kind heart never fades away. If there was one teacher I would recommend to anyone, it would be you. Thank you for everything.

To Mrs. Hardaway: Thank you for the support you have given me from the moment I walked into the classroom. You are one of the most courageous, honest and loving teachers I have ever met. From helping me with the AVID summer institute to congratulating me on my college acceptances, you are truly a blessing within students and staff. I thank you for all you have done.
To Mr. Hale: I will always remember you for introducing me to connections and giving me the courage to join UIL Journalism. I loved your dad jokes and you joining in on my couch conversations. Thank you for helping me with learning the grammar and language of journalism.

To myself: I know I am in a place of fear of growing older and not knowing what is the right of way. Yet whatever path you are choosing for yourself, I am sure there is a good reason and not “just for the plot.” Whether you become a doctor or a lawyer, present me right now will be proud of the journey you will follow.
