ZOOMING IN
Q: What inspired you to join the Farmerettes?
A: “To be able to dance in the field and wear the hat, since for me the hat is the most iconic element.”
Q: Describe the feeling you get when you perform at a game.
A: “It was a beautiful experience. The combination of nerves, excitement, fear and enthusiasm was truly unforgettable. The simple act of dancing on the field and hearing the band play behind us is something I would pay to experience again.”
Q: What are some of the challenges you have to go through while being in Farmerettes?
A: “Striving to improve my technique and flexibility were my challenges. I would stress myself out every night, staying up late into the early hours to train all so I could reach that level, feel satisfied with myself, and feel that I truly deserved to be there.”
Q: Describe the feeling you get thinking of leaving the Farmerettes when you graduate.
A: “I feel incredibly sad, as this has been an unforgettable experience. I think if I could say one thing to the girls at our schools who love dancing and the sense of togetherness, it would be to join the team because these are truly moments you will never forget. Personally, I would give anything to have joined the team sooner or to relive this year over and over again.”
Q: What were your favorite memories, and what are some activities you and the Farmerettes do?
A: “The games we play during practice are the best, as are the jokes we make. Some activities we do are games to help us whenever we are struggling with our dances. We all separate into groups and try to help each other on things we don’t know. We also gather into a circle and the officers are in the middle and try to hype us up.”
Q: What’s a life lesson you’ve learned from being on Farmerettes?
A: “I was injured for two months, and I think the best lesson is not to let yourself be defeated or let anything stop you, but to use every event in your life to improve and move forward, and use it as momentum. Simply put, when you fall, get up, dust yourself off, and try again, changing the mistakes you made to learn how to learn.”
Q: What is your favorite routine?
A: “My favorite routines are the across the floor and the stand routines.”
