Q: What college will you attend? What is your intended major, and why that major?
A: “I’m going to Texas A&M University because I’m going to major in biology to become a veterinarian.”
Q: What extracurriculars have you been involved in throughout high school?
A: “I was a part of National Honor Society, Health Occupation Students of America and swim because I like swimming.”
Q: What was the most challenging aspect about balancing extracurriculars and academics?
A: “I had to go to school early and sleep early to make sure I had time to study and exercise for swimming.”
Q: What class was the most challenging for you? Why?
A: “AP Chemistry because there was a lot of stuff to memorize.”
Q: Who has helped you the most throughout these last four years? How have they helped you?
A: “My friend Kayla because when I first came to school after leaving Korea as a sophomore, she taught me how to speak English.”
Q: What has been the most memorable part of high school?
A: “The most memorable part for me was swimming competitions because it was fun. I practiced a lot for those, and I liked feeling the speed and water [on me].”
Q: What advice would you give to your freshman self?
A: “I’d tell my sophomore self don’t worry too much about school. I was so nervous at the beginning.”
Q: What are you most excited about regarding college?
A: “Getting to know new people and learn more about animals and biology in college.”
Q: What would you change about your high school experience?
A: “I wish I did easier classes; I feel like I didn’t need to take all honors classes.”
Q: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
A: “Being a veterinarian in a hospital. I like animals and I feel like I don’t interact with them very much, so if I become a veterinarian, I will be able to experience more of them.”
