Why is homecoming important to you?

It’s one of those things that you’re not gonna be able to do in life anymore, and once you get out of high school it’s over. So might as well take advantage of it while it’s still there.

There’s only a certain amount of time you can get together with the entire school and have fun besides the games. There’s music and dancing and you’re having a good time, so it’s like a party but for school.

I see how much fun everybody has, and it’s something huge the school does. [It’s one of the] two main things [along with] Battle of the Axe, so I think it’s important cause it brings the schools together.

— Sophomore Juan Martinez

Why did you decide to go to homecoming?

I decided to go to homecoming because there are only four high school homecomings for me in life and I don’t want to miss any high school experiences.

How much do you think you will spend overall on homecoming?

Overall, I [have] spent about $120. I still have to buy shoes. I spent $40 on the dress, [and] a little over $50 on the mum. It’s pretty expensive.

Well I have most of the things I need. But I expect like $150 with the dress and the garter, and whatever [else] I need cause I already have the shoes and he’s buying the ticket.
