UP: Unsung heroes

Staying after everyone else has left. Cleaning up that stall everyone avoids. Making that filthy corner no one will sit in look spotless. Coming even throughout the summer to give the floors that back-to-school shine. Behind the scenes, janitors work tirelessly to keep our learning environment clean, and we often don’t pause to realize it. (After all, public bathrooms aren’t naturally that clean in the morning.) So if you see a janitor today, offer some thanks and appreciation for their hard work.

DOWN: Anti fast food

With no off campus lunch many students’ minds turn to getting their favorites delivered. Everyone from Jimmy Johns to Pizza Hut delivers nowadays and this seems like the perfect way to get your lunch, however the no delivery policy eliminates this option. Not everyone’s parents can bring them food and some students don’t like what’s available in the cafeteria. Allowing delivery would be a good option to give students a boost of joy during the lunch hour.

UP: Campus happenings

People are so involved. With numerous amounts of clubs like StuCo, GSA, British culture and Latin, everyone is involved. Clubs and organizations also aren’t too hard to find or know about. Charts and announcements are all around to keep students updated and not missing a thing.

DOWN: No go on hoco

Homecoming proposals are cute if you get one. But if you happen to be an onlooker, it is just a sick reminder that we will all be lonely forever. So thank you sickeningly cute couples, for shoving your happiness down our throats. Thank you so much.

UP: Caffeine pep

After a whole night of studying for the next day, after rushing from class to class, a lot of students need something to keep their energy up and their focus sharp. The Cafe not only serves coffee but snacks too. It’s a safe haven and relief to those who skip breakfast in the morning, need some extra pep in their step or just want something to munch on. The convenient location, the library, helps those who love to read with a tea or coffee in hand or those who just need to study. The cafe, and the lovely lunch ladies, serve everyone.

DOWN: The hunger lines

Lunch is everyone’s favorite time of the day. It’s a break in between the four, hour and a half classes we take everyday, for five days a week. Now, there may be different choices of food to get, but the lines for them are not so great. Students can get in line at the beginning of A block and not get food until five minutes from B block or after it begins. When you’re hungry and you haven’t eaten breakfast, you want food right then and don’t want to wait in long lines.
