For all your feelings toward your teachers who gave you long excruciating tests or a less deserving grade on a project, the time to return the favor has come.

Art Club’s “Pie In The Eye” has returned for a second year. Beginning this past Tuesday, May 26, buckets have been set up in the cafeteria during block lunch for students and faculty members to donate money toward a teacher or administrator at whom they would like to see pies thrown. Donations will be accepted through June 1, and at that time, the top six faculty members with the most money in their buckets will be pied the next day during block lunch.

One of last year’s top 6, pre-cal teacher Jason Polson, reminisced over his personal experience of being pied, and has a high expectation for this year.

“I remember that most people in attendance genuinely seemed to have a good time, and hopefully [this year] we can raise more money,” Polson said.

For this year’s fundraiser students will pay $5 for two pies instead of one. The money that is raised will mainly go toward Art Club, and the money from the pies will be split up amongst the teachers who are the targets and go toward their own club or classroom.

Art teacher Shanna Blair also has high expectations for this year’s fundraiser.

“Not positive how much we raised last year, [but] I think it may have been almost $500,” Blair said. “We would like to raise the same or more.”
