Venture Rome with a lone traveler
If you’re alone on Valentine’s Day, don’t fret, you can join someone for an adventure. Kevin James, known for his starring role in Paul Blart: Mall Cop, produces and stars in an upcoming film called “Solo Mio,” which follows the life of Matt Taylor after finding his significant other. When they never showed up, Matt decides it’s better to visit Rome by himself. This film is rated PG, and runs until Feb. 12 at the Lewisville Cinemark.
More grub for your buck
Currently, multiple local dining spots offer a great dining experience. Consider Main Street Cafe, which features diverse options of chicken, beef and fish, priced between $10 and $20 per person. Another great option around the area is State 28 Kitchen. They offer dishes close to home, as everything is a Texas-related cuisine, such as brisket mac and cheese, the Lewisville, which is a ribeye steak with texas toast, and Deep Ellum club, consisting of turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, swiss cheese and chipotle aioli. Pricing per person is typically between $15 to $30.
Nothing but <3 for italian cuisine
Good, savory Italian food is comfort food. Buca di Beppo is offering a special dinner with a choice of mixed green salad, Caesar salad, loaf of garlic bread and a heart-shaped lasagna for couples. To top off the night, there’s some delicious cannoli with cream filling, chocolate chips and heart-shaped sprinkles.
Make the discovery on a special evening
The Exchange Hall in Dallas has multiple diners that offer cuisines for you and your significant other’s liking. If tacos are your favourite, hit up Chilango’s Tacos, and if pizza is your go-to, visit Zalat Pizza. Once you are finished, venture into the AT&T Discovery District, with The Globe giving wonderstruck looks for visitors who are new at the district, with 300,000 LEDs and an exterior design of a mirror capturing the views of Dallas without needing to move your head.
Build a gift basket
If you don’t want to do any of the above, build your valentine a gift basket with some of their favorite items. This is dependant on how much you spend, but once the basket is finished, that hand-selected gift will put a smile on their face.
Hand create everything from scratch
Making everything from scratch. It doesn’t matter if it’s dinner, jewelry, bracelets, paintings, clothes or candles. If you can think of it, you can make it. Making something handmade can tell your lover “I took time out of my day to make you this because I love you,” and this will make them happier than ever, even if they had a bad day.
