St. Paddy’s Texas Style will take place on Saturday, March 14, from 1 to 9:30 p.m. at Wayne Ferguson Plaza, inviting friends and family to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and Texas Independence Day in one festival. This event requires no registration and no admission fee is needed.
The festival combines traditional St. Patrick’s Day customs with the event also highlighting Texas Independence Day on March 2 and upcoming St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. The event was launched in 2017 and continued for two years until 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers later resumed the event, continuing the celebration in Old Town.
Planners Jaime Milestead, Daren Watkins and Shelly Pershing welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the live music, featuring Reverend Horton Heart, who is a trio from Dallas that plays rock and roll with influences from ‘50s country music. There will also be family activities and food and beverage concessions. This is a community event featuring vendors from throughout North Texas areas. The event includes a full schedule of performances, activities and vendors throughout the day.
“It’s a great event for all ages,” special events coordinator Jaime Milestead said. “Adults can enjoy live music in a beautiful outdoor setting with plenty of stuff for kids, such as inflatables, face painting, lucha libre wrestling, music and dance.”
Free event parking will be available at Lewisville City Hall and in a nearby public parking lot. Some of the singers and bands that will be at the St. Paddy’s Texas Style are Beyond The Pale, Rathom, Scott Strickland, River Driver and Reverend Horton Heart. There will be many more activities at the event and posters throughout Old Town providing additional information. They also welcome well-behaved pets on a leash.
“So all the bands are based out of Texas, and alternate between celtic music, rock, traditional, Texas country, Americana and folk,” Milestead said.
Lost and found items will be kept at an inflatable kiosk located in the center of the venue across from the food vendors. Attendees who misplace personal belongings during the event can visit the kiosk to check for their items.
“If items remain unclaimed, we will turn them over to our police department where they can be reclaimed,” Watkins said.
The event brings together community members of all ages for live music, activities and entertainment. Attendees can spend time outdoors while participating in a variety of scheduled performances and family friends activities.
“There’s free public parking in Old Town Lewisville and free public bike parking,” Shelly Pershing said.
