Prom tickets go on sale Monday, March 25. Tickets will start at $75, on April 8 tickets price will increase to $80 and on April 15 tickets will be on sale for $85. The event will take place Saturday, April 27 at DFW Hyatt Regency, Terminal C exit in the airport. Prom starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.

Students can purchase tickets in room G144, and both cash and card are accepted. If students have any school fees due, they will be unable to purchase tickets but will be allowed to purchase tickets after all debts are paid. A limited number of tickets will be available for $100 at the door.

“This is one of the only times when you’re going to have a really nice dinner and meal,” Student Council adviser Bernette Lindamood said. “If you miss it, you’re going to be sad 20 years from now that you missed your prom.”

This year’s prom theme is “Under the Lantern Sky.” The event will offer a 360 Live Video Booth, a regular photo booth and a professional DJ, as well as dinner and dessert. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The menu will include salad, bread, entree and a dessert.

In order to enter, prom students need to show a legal or school ID and their prom ticket. Nominations for prom king and queen will be available at the entrance for attendees to vote. Prom royalty will be announced that night at 7:45 p.m.

“Prom is a big part of your high school experience,” junior class president Luca Bella Francis said. “It’s a good opportunity to just have fun with your friends and peers.”

After 9 p.m., students will no longer be allowed to enter prom. Prom attendance has always been a large population of students, and StuCo hopes to keep it up this year as well.

“I’m excited because it’s my first time going to prom, and I think it’s a great way to end senior year,” senior Nohemi Reyes said. “Just a night of having fun.”
