The Farmers will visit the Little Elm Lobos on Friday, March 13, marking the last game of the season. This game will make the Farmers either go to playoffs or stay home after a long ride.
The Farmers have a 8-8-7 overall record, and a 4-5-4 district record. Their chances to claim a playoff spot are slim, losing against Guyer with a 1-0 score, the team now hopes to navigate the ball to a win this Friday.
“As a coach I feel like staying strong and motivated late into games is something they can improve on, especially when leading,” head coach Brandon McCallum said.
One of the problems that they struggle with is communication. The players are having a hard time with calling out a play that is setting them for success and claim they need more communication when the situation is tense.
“Something we need to improve on as a team is communication,” junior Angel Saucedo said. “Just being out there in the field, and the way we talk and communicate [with each other].”
However there are times that they’re communication is decent, there is definitely room for improvement. The players also have one thing in common, which is participating in other clubs during their free time.
“Since next year is going to be my last year,” junior Jose Vasquez said. “I play outside of the club and I also play for the Dallas Cup [football club].”
