Review: Pizza Inn provides fine slices

Buffet offers delicious desserts, foods other than pizza

Pizza Inn opened its location on Lewisville’s Main Street on Monday, Oct. 1. This restaurant has been acknowledged for its unique buffet that is different from Cici’s because of its distinctive service and focus on thin crust pizzas. Pizza Inn will have to compete with Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Little Caesars and Cici’s for its customers. The interior design of the building provides something different than its competitors.

The moment customers walk into the restaurant they’re greeted by polite employees and nice smiles while being escorted to their tables. The waiters frequently ask if customers would like to enjoy more refreshments or place orders for any special dishes.

Pizza Inn separates itself from common pizza buffets because it serves fries, small corn dogs, chocolate pudding, homemade pasta and macaroni for customers who don’t want to eat only pizza.

However, the Alfredo sauce for the pasta gives off a dry taste that is not too enjoyable, and the macaroni is unfortunately submerged in plain cheese. On the other hand, the pasta with tomato sauce has a homemade flavor that gives it a great taste.

While Pizza Inn has made its focus solely on providing only thin crust pizzas for its buffet, it would be nice to have a traditional crust option as well. This buffet charges $8.99 per person but with a drink and tax it will end up to $11.42, which is a little too expensive for the small amount of choices and the lack of unique sauce making the pizza have a plain taste. It’s important to note if customers want to order a whole pizza with any type of crust and toppings, they will have to pay an extra charge.

Pizza Inn’s Hawaiian pizza has a sauce that makes customers believe they are eating plain bread. The taco pizza has a great taste with its tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and taco beef.

Customers with the sense of trying something new should go and visit the restaurant because each slice has a different taste. Appetizers include cheese breadsticks, garlic breadsticks and pepperoni twists; while they have a perfect taste, they are all greasy to the touch.

The best part was of the buffet is the dessert offerings including the delicious chocolate pudding, bavarian cream pizzert and the cookie slices. The restaurant deserves 2 out of 5 stars because while the food doesn’t meet expectations, the buffet provides a cozy-feeling environment.
